Following changes to the building regulations which took effect from 1 st April 2002 , replacement windows and doors now fall within the requirements of the regulations. In simple terms these regulations dictate that the householder must either apply for approval from Local Authority Building Control or use a contractor who is registered with a competent person scheme that can allow contractors to self certify their work. A condition of these regulations is that the installing contractor must give or at least offer insurance cover to the householder.
For this reason it is important that you choose an installer carefully. Pride Windows & Conservatories is a member of the Certass Certification (No. 001879) & self assessment competent persons scheme and the QANW (Quality Assured National Warranties) 10 year insurance backed guarantee.
10 year warranty
Many companies offer some kind of warranty. These warranties are often given to bolster consumer confidence, but unless they are backed by an independent insurance scheme then they have little real credibility and are, in reality, worth nothing if the company ceases to trade.
The warranty offered by Pride Windows & Conservatories is backed by Quality Assured National Warranties (QANW), one of the premier warranty administrators in the UK. QANW is sponsored by Pinnacle Insurance PLC (part of the Compagnie Bancaire Group) and are in the business of providing quality independent warranties accepted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Insurance Ombudsman.
QANW Deposit Indemnity Scheme:
This scheme offers the customer an assurance that if we cease to trade, your contract deposit is safe. This is valid until the installation date.
QANW Insurance Guarantee Scheme:
In the unlikely event we cease to trade we offer a 10 year insurance backed guarantee whereby you can claim for repair of any installation or material defects that may arise. The guarantee is issued alongside our own guarantee and after sales advice sheet.
